NATS Prestwick Centre

Doug MacLean rightly points out that the title of the centre is the NATS Prestwick Centre as it was the combination of 3 ATC Centres – Manchester Area Control Centre, Scottish Airways and Shanwick Oceanic

Pete Clarke provided these photos of the outside of the new Scottish and Oceanic Area Control Centre in Prestwick before it became operational.
Photos 1 and 3 show the bridge link to the old building.
The 1st floor balcony enabled staff to sit outside when visiting the canteen.
The Morgan, by the way, is Pete’s old one – a 1990 4/4. It has been upgraded since he retired to a younger Plus4.

  1. I guess to be pedantic the name is NATS Prestwick Centre and it was the combination of the 3 ATC Centres – Manchester Area Control Centre, Scottish Airways and Shanwick Oceanic.
