RAF Leeming

Its of the Old Tower at Leeming which was Sandy’s first ATC unit in his ATC Career,  between Jun1968 to Jul 1971. As a Master Diversion Airfield they had their fare share of emergencies and diversions both military and civilian. The photo must date from before 3 FTS moved in.

  1. I think the Jetstream may be the first one to arrive at Leeming when the RAF restarted multi engine pilot training at Leeming in 1976. For some reason they moved the Jetstreams to Finningley in 1979.
