  1. I was the tower controller at Aldergrove when the last Shack out of Ballykelly was coming overhead to join the airway. I was given all the frequencies to monitor whilst all the other controllers went out on the balcony for a view – all were ex Coastal Command aircrew.

  2. Visited ATC whilst at Summer Camp with the ATC in 1963.
    I recall they had a very powerful radar sited on a hill off airfield to give them low cover over the Atlantic possibly called MacGiiligan after the area where it was sited?
    I also recall the procedures they told us were used when they were using runway 08/26 and a train was expected, the main Belfast – Londonderry line crossing the runway diagonally towards its western end – trains had priority over aircraft!!
