RAF Debach, Suffolk

Dick Gilbert sent me some photos of this WW2 airfield tower now preserved as a memorial to the USAAF Eighth Airforce unit that flew from there. Their history can be found by clicking this link  493rd BG(H) at Debach.

B-17 landing at Debach by the runway caravan, a modified Brockhurst trailer with a B-17 nose cone on the roof. we think the vehicle is a Dodge 1/2 ton WC truck

  1. In the 1990s it was windowless and surrounded by trees and bushes.thanks to the owners of the industrial units that occupy the old runways it was restored.
