  1. Interesting to see the various comments about Type 82 Radar units. I was of course aware that the T82 was never originally intended for ATC use.
    I first visited Lindholme as a 15 year old Air Training Corps (ATC) cadet in 1965. We were shown round the radar unit which was then known as ‘Humber Radar’, but I wasn’t aware that it had only been in use for ATC for a short time then and as far as I can remember, there was no civil element established (but then I may be wrong!).
    Little did I know in 1965 that 8 years later, I would be attached to Lindholme for Area Radar training and endorsement as a different type of ATC cadet, this time Air Traffic Control Officer!
