RAF Linton on Ouse

We think this is a 2328/39 concrete tower viewed from the rear, distinguished by the concrete wall around the roof and wrap around front windows on the upper floor facing out over the balcony – you can just see the end of the wrap around window to the right of the four upper side windows. RAF Linton on Ouse had such a tower and is 53 feet amsl, none of the other units with towers of this design are close to 55 feet as written on the tower so that’s the unit we’ve gone for – unless you know better of course.

  1. I understand a new tower has now been built at Linton, so the usual thinking of the beancounters has occured ie it’s costing us too much money so close the airfield.
