Recently received from Les Wood are some GATCO archive documents. They include lists of the Guild of Air Traffic Control Officers’ past Masters and Presidents from the Guild’s formal incorporation in the 1950s until the mid 1990s.
For those readers not up to speed with some of this, The Guild is the UK Controllers’ Professional Association. When set up there was an aspiration to become a liveried Guild and the Head of the Guild was known as the Master. Later in GATCO’s history the ambition to pursue Liveried Guild status was set aside and the terminology modernised, for example the Master became the President.
These lists are of those who led the Guild and the also the names of those who led the Guild’s Lodges/Regions.
