CAA House

Built on Kingsway to house CAA including NATS, the building was split after NATS privatisation between NATS (who had the tower) and CAA (who had the block). The two were connected by elevated  covered  walkways and after the split only the staff restaurant was common ground.

  1. Was actually a 1960s speculative build by the same outfit that built Centre Point and the old block at London Bridge (replaced by the rather more imaginative Shard). It was originally called “Space House” and was renamed after the CAA moved in.
Construction included some high-alumina cement and the foundations were reinforced by steel cables before the building was occupied in the mid-1970s.
