LATCC development in the late 70s early 80s

The LATCC Development project was an ambitious programme to update the ATS facilities at West Drayton that ultimately was cancelled as civil resource availability and operational priorities changed. The first link below is a broad basic overview of what was proposed.

  1. I notice that back in the mid seventies(blimey 40 years ago) it was planned for the ATCRUs at Watton and Midland to close. Yet I can remember people 30 years ago saying that Eastern would never close as it was used so much by the USAF and the USAF wanted it to stay open!
